Charlie McShane Honored as Shoreman of the Week

The West Deptford High School grad was named Washington College's outstanding athlete last week.

West Deptford High School alumnus and Washington College sophomore forward Charlie McShane nabbed last week's Shoreman of the Week honors, which covers male athletes across all sports at the college.

McShane received the honor after scoring a career-high 23 points, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, in a 74-64 Centennial Conference win over Swarthmore College.

McShane, who also tied a career best with seven rebounds and also recorded three blocks, scored 16 of the Shoremen's 31 first-half points against Swarthmore, helping Washington College to a 31-28 lead at halftime.

On the season, McShane is averaging 8.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 23 minutes per game, and has made an appearance in all 10 of the Shoremen's games.

After the holiday break, McShane and Washington College (4-6) next take on Salisbury at home on Jan. 3.
