Crash Shuts Down Black Horse Pike As Black Ice Impacts Highway

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A crash that took down a pole and wires has closed the Black Horse Pike on Friday morning in Gloucester County, officials said.

The Black Horse Pike, also known as Route 42, is closed between Berlin-Cross Keys Road and Grandview Avenue in Monroe Township, police said.

All lanes in both directions are expected to remain closed until the afternoon, according to Monroe Township police.

Black ice has been reported throughout the pike and is being addressed, police said.

Avoid the area.

The crash happened around 7 a.m., according to 511NJ traffic alerts. No other information about it was immediately available.
