Crash-Filled Morning On South Jersey Highways: See Incidents Near You

Highways around the state are 'clear for the most part, but wet and may be slippery,' said the NJ Department of Transportation.

SOUTH JERSEY — Several crashes have been reported along South Jersey's highways as commuters navigate wet roads induced by the snowstorm.

As of Tuesday morning, road conditions on interstates and highways throughout New Jersey are "clear for the most part, but wet and may be slippery," said the NJ Department of Transportation (NJDOT).

"Go slow and allow extra commuting time as local roads may take longer to clear," NJDOT said.

The National Weather Service has reported 2-3 inches of snow throughout the region. The snowfall has transitioned into an icy mix, which the weather agency expects to taper off throughout the morning.

Here are the crashes and incidents impacting South Jersey's highways as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday:

  • Interstate 295, Mount Laurel: a vehicle spun out on the roadway, south of Exit 40 to Route 38. NJDOT reported left-shoulder closures on both sides.
  • I-295, Florence Township: disabled vehicle off the roadway on the northbound side, south of Exit 52 to Columbus Road. The right lane is closed.
  • New Jersey Turnpike, Mansfield Township: crash and a vehicle off the roadway on the turnpike's southbound outer roadway, south of Interchange 6 to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The right shoulder is blocked.
  • Route 42, Runnemede: disabled tractor-trailer on the southbound side, south of Exit 14 to Route 753/Creek Road. The right shoulder is closed.
  • Route 55, Elk Township: crash on the southbound side, north of Exit 45 to Buck Road. The left shoulder is closed.
