West Deptford, NJ -- The battle between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders isn’t the only Democratic Primary battle set for Tuesday.

U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1) will be challenged in the Democratic Primary by progressive activist Alex Law. Bob Patterson is running unopposed for the Republican nomination.

Tuesday is also the deadline for prospective candidates to file third-party petitions.

The First Congressional District covers 36 municipalities in Camden County, two in Burlington County, and 14 in Gloucester County.

Four Democrats are running for their party’s nomination for two open freeholder seats in November’s general election.

Frank DiMarco and Dan Christy have the backing of the Democratic Organization of Gloucester County, in the same column as Clinton, while Nancy Wang and Elizabeth Chapparo are running in the same column as Bernie Sanders.

Carol King-Sammons and Jack Scheidell are running for the Republican nominations unopposed.

Locally, James Robinson and Megan Kerr are running for the Democratic nominations for two open seats on township committee. There are no Republicans pursuing the nominations.

New Jersey’s primary elections are closed, meaning voters must be a member of a party to vote in that party’s primary.

There is also same-day registration, which enables an independent voter to register as a member of a particular party so they can vote in that primary. Voters can then revert back to their previous affiliation at a later time.

Polls are open 6 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7.
