Fire At Deerfield Plant In Cumberland County: Police
F&S Produce in Deerfield caught fire Tuesday. Several buildings have been destroyed, reports say.
DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A large warehouse belonging to a South Jersey produce company caught fire Tuesday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police.
The fire at F&S Produce in Deerfield Township began at about 1:12 p.m., State Trooper Alejandro Goez said Tuesday afternoon. Some of the plant's buildings have been destroyed. The cause of the fire is unknown. Firefighters were still on the scene just before 4 p.m. State police responded to the scene to assist with traffic control.
One firefighter has been hospitalized with heat exhaustion, according to 6 ABC's Katie Katro.

F&S will look to place displaced employees at an alternative plant, according to 6 ABC. The family farming business was established in the 1970s, and produces 100 million pounds of locally grown fruits and vegetables a year, according to F&S Produce's website.
