Gloucester County Player Sidelined by Injury Had First Hand View of Villanova's National Title Win

Tim Delaney is a redshirt freshman with the Wildcats.

A Gloucester County native sidelined by injury had a firsthand view of Villanova’s national championship win Monday night.

Tim Delaney, a Mullica Hill resident who led Pitman to a state title in 2014, missed the 2015-16 season when he was forced to have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip, the Courier Post reports.

Delaney was there when his team lost to Seton Hall in the Big East tournament final, but he was also with them every step of the way en route to the national title, including Monday night’s 77-74 win over North Carolina.

Kris Jenkins hit a three-pointer as time expired in what some people are calling “the greatest game in NCAA tournament history.”

Delaney was a redshirt freshman this year, and should be able to help the Wildcats in their attempt to defend their title when they take the court next season.
