GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — The state attorney general has appointed an acting Gloucester County Prosecutor has been appointed after Charles A. Fiore abruptly resigned on Thursday, authorities announced.

Christine A. Hoffman was appointed to the post after Fiore resigned effective noon Thursday, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced.

Fiore told his office manager and staff in an email that he was resigning for family reasons and to pursue other ventures in the private sector, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. There have been various discrimination complaints brought against Fiore and other higher-ups in the office, but it was unclear if that had anything to do with his resignation.
