Haddonfield Football Team Stays Unbeaten, Hands West Deptford First Loss

The Bulldawgs held off an Eagles rally to come away with the overtime win, according to nj.com.

The Haddonfield High School football team remained undefeated and handed West Deptford its first loss of the season in overtime in what nj.com describes as an “epic that will go down as one of the greatest games in this storied rivalry.”

The Bulldawgs defeated the Eagles, 28-25, in overtime, on a 33-yard field goal by Drew Tomlinson, according to the report.

It was the second field goal of the game for Tomlinson, who kicked a 23-yarder in the fourth.

West Deptford’ds Luke Cornelius also connected on a pair of field goals, including a 26-yarder that helped the Eagles rally in the fourth. He also had a 26-yarder in the third.

Haddonfield took a 22-7 lead into halftime behind two touchdown passes by Mike Alberto and a 55-yard interception return for a touchdown by Tommy Kadar.

Alberto connected on a 20-yard pass for a score to Jake Robinson and a 17-yarder for a score to Tyler Klaus.

Kevin DeCaesar had West Deptford’s only touchdown in the first half, on a 1-yard run.

Tomlinson’s field goal was the only score in the third or fourth quarters, as West Deptford rallied.

In addition to Cornelius’s field goals, Isaiah Easterling’s 18-yard pass found Quaron Dozier for a score, and Preston Harcum returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown.

Haddonfield improved to 4-0. West Deptford fell to 3-1.
