K-9 Reaper Retires From West Deptford Police Department
The Belgian Malinois joined the department's K-9 unit in 2015 and his last shift with the department is Thursday.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — One of the police dogs working with West Deptford's officers "clocked in" for his last-ever shift as a K-9 on Thursday.
K-9 Reaper, a Belgian Malinois, is going into retirement. Reaper has been with Officer Narcisco Vergara since he joined the department's K-9 unit in 2015.
A native of Poland, Reaper graduated from the Atlantic County John "Sonny" Burke K-9 Academy in 2016, and is trained in Patrol and Narcotics Detection.

The department's K-9 unit thanked Reaper and Vergara for their dedication and service over the last eight years, and wished the dog a happy retirement.
"During briefing Reaper received belly rubs from members of the sqaud and was a real ham," the K-9 unit wrote in a Facebook post. "We had to remind him that he still had 1 shift left."

West Deptford Police also congratulated Reaper on his retirement and encouraged him to "relax and enjoy the good life."
