WASHINGTON TWP., NJ — With the excitement of the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, another South Jersey school district has called a delayed start for Monday.

Students and staff at Washington Township Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Feb. 13, said interim superintendent Jack McGee.

"We believe it is important that our WTPS community has the opportunity to enjoy this exciting time together in a way that allows our staff and students to come to school the next day rested and ready to learn," said McGee. "We are hopeful that the delayed opening maximizes student attendance for Monday."

Gloucester City Public Schools are also operating on a two-hour delay Monday, as Patch reported.

McGee said all district schools will follow the delayed opening schedule that's usually used for inclement weather. Students who take the bus should go to the bus stop two hours after their regularly scheduled time.

Kids Choice will be open for the afternoon session but not the morning one on Monday, he said.

"Thank you so much for your support in helping us create the best possible learning environment for our children," McGee said. "We look forward to seeing all of our staff and students on Monday after the big game. Go Birds!"
