Man, 79, Fatally Struck By SUV In South Jersey: Police
The driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — An SUV fatally struck a man in the roadway Thursday in Washington Township, authorities said.
The crash killed a 79-year-old Turnersville resident, police said. His name has been withheld as of Friday morning.
A blue Kia Sportage struck the man at about 5:15 p.m. Thursday, as he walked in the eastbound lane of Ganttown Road, authorities said. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver stayed on location and has been cooperating with the investigation, which remains underway. Ganttown Road was shut down for 2 hours between Egg Harbor and Bells Lake roads as officials examined the scene.
The deceased pedestrian lived at a condo complex on the roadway.

Police haven't been able to find witnesses or surveillance footage as of Friday morning.
