On Dec. 14, 2022, at around 5:40 p.m., Woolson was driving in his 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 on South Black Horse Pike west at an "extremely high rate of speed."

Evan Silverstein, 52, of Marlton, was driving east at the time and made a left turn across the westbound lanes.

Woolson hit Silverstein's car and split it in half. The front half traveled more than 100 feet into a parking lot of a strip mall, officials added.

He was driving at 119 miles per hour three seconds before the crash, authorities said, and only hit the brake at around one second prior to impact.

Silverstein was thrown from his vehicle and died.

A passenger in Woolson's car was also hurt.

The State of New Jersey presented multiple witnesses, including an eyewitness to the crash and several "expert witnesses," in the case.

Woolson faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for the death by auto conviction. He will be assigned fines and other disciplinary results stemming from his traffic offenses.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 21.
