NJ Man Wanted For Kidnapping After Stealing Car With Kids Inside, Police Say

BRIDGETON, NJ — Bridgeton Police are searching for a man who they say is connected to the theft of a car from a Wawa parking lot while kids were still inside.

Rashaud Hannah, of Bridgeton, was charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, theft of a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence, and theft.

On May 5 at around 1:20 a.m., officers responded to the Wawa at 101 East Broad St. for a report of a vehicle that was stolen with two young children inside.

The driver, and also the mother of the children, according to NJ Advance Media, left the car running with the 1-year-old and 7-year-old still inside while she went into the store.

When she returned, the car was gone.

Police were able to locate the car with the kids inside in around 30 minutes.
