Outstanding Achievement Awards Presented to 52nd Police Class

Seven Gloucester County Police Academy graduates receive accolades during July 11 ceremony.

Outstanding Achievement awards were presented to seven graduates of the 52nd Basic Police Class of the Gloucester County Police Academy on Wednesday, July 11, in the Physical Education Center on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC).

Thirty-eight men and six women graduated with fanfare and good wishes, marking the completion of their 19-week training session. Police Academy Director Fred H. Madden welcomed guests, with opening remarks provided by Board of Trustees Chairperson Gene J. Concordia. The keynote address was presented by Prosecutor Charles Fiore of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Following the presentation of diplomas, achievement awards were presented to the following graduates:

Cameron Jacob Drake, Millville, was presented with the Director’s and Physical Training Awards.

Matthew W. O’Hanlon, Mt. Laurel Township, and Lukkus A. Perez, Vineland, received the Firearms Award.

Vineland’s David Owens received the Academic and Physical Training Awards.

The Administrator Robert D. Melson Merit Award, Special Dedication Award and Physical Training Award were presented to Emmory L. Bowens, Vineland.

McLean C. Lipschutz, alternate route Freehold, received the Vehicle Operations Award.

Monroe Township’s Craig Staffieri received the Physical Training Award.

Class officers for the 52nd Police Course include: President Johanna R. James, Vice-President Morgan J. Muracco, Secretary/Treasurer Dominique E. Khoury, Class Leader Emmory L. Bowens and Physical Fitness Leader/Guidon Craig Staffieri.

The 44 graduates represented Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Essex, Gloucester, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Salem Counties.

The Gloucester County Police Academy operates as an autonomous unit within RCGC’s Division of Law and Justice.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road, Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
