RCGC's Gus Ostrum Receives Athletic Communications Award
RCGC Men's Track & Field team capture NJCAA Division III National Championship and Gus Ostrum was there to report it.

On May 12, the Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) Roadrunners Men’s Track & Field team captured their first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III National Championship since 2014 with a spectacular finish at Mohawk Valley Community College in New York — and Sports Information Specialist Gus Ostrum was there to report it.
Ostrum traveled with the team providing written details, photographs and video coverage to the local media and for the College’s website. His reporting of the National Champions did not go unrecognized. On June 7, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) presented Ostrum with a plaque for his contributions in support of RCGC’s recent Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championship.
“Gus has done an outstanding job all year promoting Roadrunner Athletics and we are thrilled to have him as part of our team,” said Executive Director of Athletics Brian Rowan. “Our capstone achievement this year was winning the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship and Gus was right there to document it and provide our local media with updates. He has gone above and beyond for the Roadrunners and I am very glad he is receiving the recognition he deserves from the national organization for sports information.”
