RiverWinds In West Deptford To Close For Coronavirus Concerns

The RiverWinds Community Center in West Deptford will be closed through March out of an abundance of caution, officials said on Friday.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — The RiverWinds Community Center in West Deptford will be closed for the rest of the month out of an abundance of caution due to concerns about new coronavirus, township officials announced on Friday. The community center was set to close at noon and remain closed until March 31.

The closure includes all activities, rentals, existing utility use applications, and any/all West Deptford Township fields (including the West Deptford Player Development Building), according to officials. Staff members will be in touch regarding any rentals scheduled through the end of the month.

Township officials are also encouraging residents to make any payments due to the township without coming into the Township Building. Residents may pay via the outdoor drop box located at the Crown Point Road side of the parking lot, the online bill pay system located at https://wipp.edmundsassoc.com/Wipp/?wippid=0820 or regular mail.

On Friday, the West Deptford Public School District said it is using its already scheduled in-service day to prepare for the potential need for remote learning due to the virus. School officials said they will update the community as more information becomes available.

The New Jersey Department of Health has partnered with the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System to open and operate a call center (1-800-222-1222) for public use regarding questions, concerns, and other information related to coronavirus spread in New Jersey.
