South Jersey Mother Of 2 Killed In Murder-Suicide: Police

SOUTH JERSEY – Two people were found dead inside a New Jersey home this week in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said. Friends and relatives expressed their grief on Facebook and other social media toward the death of the mother of two young girls.

Shelbi Martin, 21, was found dead of a gunshot wound, according to nj.com. A GoFundMe page was set up to ease the financial burdens of the family, including her 4-year-old and 3-year-old daughters.

"Shelbi was so loved by those around her," the GoFundMe page said.

She was discovered after Elmer Borough police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Park Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to nj.com.

Herbert Lopez, 21, was also found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, Camden where he died early Thursday, according to nj.com

Police had found the man and a woman inside the home, NBC10 said. The man apparently shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.

Her Facebook page says she was the mother of two children who is a certified clinical medical assistant at Jefferson Health.
