South Jersey Police Officer Killed In Crash As Probe Continues
A police officer died in a two-car crash this weekend on a N.J. highway, and authorities are probing a second vehicle's involvement.

A police officer was killed in a two-vehicle crash this weekend on a South Jersey highway, and authorities are investigating a possible second car's involvement.
Charlie Amadei, 33, a Vineland police officer, was a passenger Friday in a minivan traveling Route 322 east when his vehicle collided with another driver who failed to stop, police said.
Amadei was pronounced dead shortly after in the 4 p.m. crash in Woolwich Township.

NJ.com reported that Amadei was traveling with his wife and three kids, ages 14, 2, and 1, who were all transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The pickup driver, who was not identified, was released with tickets pending completion of the investigation, according to the report.

Amadei, a Vineland Police Special Officer, helped put together a fishing derby in honor of William Amadei, who died recently of cancer. Wlliam's obituary identified Charles Amadei as his son-in-law.
This would mark the second possible tragedy to impact the family in a year.
“We didn’t know at the time how sick he really was and that he wouldn’t make it this year,” William's wife, Debra, told The Daily Journal last year.
We'll have more information as it comes in.
