Subway Shooting Serves As Reminder For NJ Transit Users, Transportation Entity Says

Tuesday's shooting at an NYC-area subway station should remind NJ Transit users to stay alert to their surroundings, a spokesperson said.

NEW JERSEY — NJ Transit says Tuesday’s shooting at a New York City-area station should prompt NJ Transit users to keep alert when using its trains and buses.

“We encourage our customers to remain aware of their surroundings and to be the eyes and ears for law enforcement – If you see something, say something,” Jim Smith, an NJ Transit spokesperson, told Patch.

People who see something suspicious at any time on an NJ Transit train or bus are asked to call 1-888-TIPS-NJT or send a text to NJTPD (65873)

Tuesday’s subway attack left 10 people shot and 13 injured, Patch reported. As of Wednesday morning, the New York City area’s subway system was running at full service and the shooter had not been caught.
