Viewfinder: West Deptford Sophomore Eagles Fall to Kingsway
The Dragons dominate on offense to claim the Tri-County Midget Football championship.
A week after racking up 40 points to blow out Cumberland in the semifinals, the West Deptford sophomore Eagles couldn't find any offense at all in a 28-0 loss to Kingsway in the Tri-County Midget Football League championship at West Deptford High School Saturday.
The Dragons scored at the 8:53 mark in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead, and after recovering an onside kick immediately after, drove down for another touchdown 3:16 into the second quarter.
The Eagles never had an answer, as they struggled to pick up first downs and never really threatened in the red zone, unlike in their 31-26 victory over Kingsway earlier this fall. Mo Taylor broke the Eagles' biggest play of the day just before halftime, a 40-yard scamper following an interception.
