WD Marching Band Records Top Score in Season Opener
Competing in Middletown, DE, West Deptford's marching band continues its winning ways.

The West Deptford Eagle Marching Band picked up right where it left off in 2011, dominating in the first competition of the new season on Saturday.
Competing at Middletown High School in Delaware, the Eagles recorded the highest score of the competitors, earning an 84.7. They easily surpassed fellow Group 2 Open schools Middletown (80.9) and Patuxent (78.85).
The outstanding score has also put West Deptford at the top of the Group 2 Open standings. West Deptford's score is a full two points ahead of any other schools in their group. Across all groups, the Marching Eagles have the third highest score so far this season, behind only Mechanicsburg High School in Pennsylvania and Pennsauken.

The Marching Eagles will be back in action again on Saturday, as they perform against their fellow South Jersey rivals for the first time this season at Collingswood High School. The competition will begin at 6:30 p.m.
