GIRLS' BASKETBALL

The Eagles had an up and down week, (39-26) before defeating Haddon Township (50-41). West Deptford came out of the gates flat against the Panthers and ended up producing their lowest point total of the year as a three-game win streak was snapped.

The cold spell didn’t last long though, as West Deptford bounced back with a big win against the Hawks. Megan Kirschling and Danielle McKeown did the heavy lifting, scoring 18 and 17, respectively. Tarryn Bundy chipped in 10 as the Eagles improved to 6-3.

WRESTLING

The wins just for the wrestling team, who defeated Haddon Heights in a 34-33 thriller and followed up with a quad meet sweep of St. Augustine (37-34), Cherry Hill East (49-17) and Allentown (51-12). Gerald Owens had two pins in going 3-0 on the day while Griffin and Rory Bonner combined for three pins and a technical fall.

Check back later this week as we chronicle the Eagles' great start to a season that outsiders thought would involve a bit of rebuilding.
