West Deptford Boys' Lacrosse Falls in GC Cup Final

The Eagles lost to Kingsway, 14-5, Wednesday night.

's boys' lacrosse team ran into a buzz saw Wednesday night.

After pulling within two goals in the second quarter against top-seeded Kingsway in the Gloucester County Cup finals at Washington Township, the Eagles found out just how dangerous the Dragons' offense could be.

Kingsway fired off five goals in a one minute, 34 second span in the second quarter to break the game wide open, on their way to a 14-5 win and county bragging rights.

After Zach Kaestner's goal with 4:48 left in the first half, the Eagles wouldn't score again until there was 5:12 remaining in the game. Kaestner and Marc Laspino each scored twice, and Mike Reardon added a goal and an assist in the loss.

The Eagles were making their second appearance in the finals in the five-year history of the cup, their last being a loss in the 2008 finals to Clearview.
