West Deptford Caps Undefeated Season With South Jersey Group 2 Championship
The Eagles are 12-0, and captured the title in the third straight title game appearance.

West Deptford, NJ -- The third time was the charm for the West Deptford High School football team.
The top-seeded Eagles defeated No. 2 Cedar Creek, 19-13, to win the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 championship on Sunday at Rowan University, according to nj.com.
It was the third consecutive championship game for the Eagles’ seniors, and put the finishing touches on a 12-0 season. West Deptford avenged last year’s defeat in the Group 2 final at the hands of Cedar Creek.
West Deptford’s rushing attack was strong as always, as Anthony Seas put the Eagles on the board first with a 21-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

After a missed PAT, Cedar Creek was able to seize the lead on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Jesse Milza to Malachi Melton. Pat Moran’s PAT gave the Pirates a 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
West Deptford retook the lead on a 3-yard touchdown run by Peter Orio in the second quarter. Mike Bilodeau’s PAT made the score 13-7 at halftime.

The final points that ultimately decided the game came through the air, on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Orio to Ken Lim in the third quarter.
Cedar Creek’s final touchdown came on a 33-yard touchdown pass from Milza to Bo Melton.
Kim, Nick Novak and Mike Gismondi each had interceptions for West Deptford, which was able to contain Bo Melton and slow down Cedar Creek’s spread offense.
West Deptford defeated No. 8 Delran and No. 4 Collingswood to reach Sunday’s final.
Cedar Creek reached the final with wins over No. 7 Middle Township and No. 3 Willingboro.
