West Deptford Girls' Bowling Back in States

The Eagles were second to Manchester Township at sectionals for the second year in a row.

's girls' bowlers brought one of their best team efforts of the season to sectionals Saturday, and it paid off with a second-place finish at Laurel Lanes in Maple Shade and a shot at states for the second year in a row.

The Eagles came in with a 2224 team series, only 39 pins off their season high, to easily stake themselves behind South Jersey, Group 2 champions Manchester Township, the third-ranked team in the entire state.

It was the team's consistency that earned them the trip back to Carolier Lanes. After the first game, West Deptford was in third with 725 pins, behind Manchester and Point Pleasant Boro, but added team games of 757 and 742 to beat out GCIT for the second automatic state championship berth.
