West Deptford High School Baseball Team Captures South Jersey Title

The Eagles defeated Cinnaminson, 3-1, to take home the crown on Friday.

West Deptford, NJ -- Tim McCloskey’s second chance propelled the West Deptford High School baseball team to a South Jersey title, nj.com reports.

McCloskey, initially called out in the first inning on an interference call, got a second chance at his at-bat after the call was reversed to a foul tip, and made good on it. He hit a two-run single that proved to be the game-winner in the top-seeded Eagles win over No. 6 Cinnaminson in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 final on Friday.

John Barret’s RBI single accounted for the other run, as West Deptford won its first South Jersey title in five years.
