West Deptford Man, 57, Dies Due To Coronavirus

One new death and one new case of coronavirus were reported in West Deptford on Friday.

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — A 57-year-old West Deptford man has died after testing positive for new coronavirus, Gloucester County officials announced on Friday.

He was one of six new coronavirus-related deaths in Gloucester County on Friday. Gloucester County now has 74 confirmed deaths. The following information is available in the most recent deaths:

  • The 69th patient death was a 93-year-old female from Washington Twp.
  • The 70th patient death was a 75-year-old male from Deptford.
  • The 71st patient death was an 81-year-old female from Glassboro.
  • The 72nd patient death was a 101-year-old female from Deptford.
  • The 73rd patient death was an 81-year-old female from Deptford.
  • The 74th patient death was a 57-year-old male from West Deptford.

A 42-year-old West Deptford woman was one of 40 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Gloucester County on Friday. There are now 1,594 positive cases of coronavirus in the county. Trace investigations are underway in all new cases.

As of Friday, Gloucester County has conducted 7,038 total tests. Of these cases, 5,430 have come back negative and 14 are pending. One case has been moved out of county.

At this time, the overall threat of the coronavirus to Gloucester County residents remains low. Gloucester County is expecting cases to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases.
