West Deptford Police Officers Honored By Mothers Against Drunk Driving

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ — Four members of the West Deptford Police Department received Mothers Against Drunk Driving's Recognition of Excellence Award in May, according to a Facebook post by the police department.

A total of 550 crashes killed 587 people in New Jersey in 2020, according to the New Jersey State Police. Of the 497 drivers in those crashes who were tested for alcohol, 34.4 percent tested positive, data show.

The award goes to police officers with "outstanding dedication and support in deterring impaired driving on New Jersey's roads and highways," the department said.

The recognized officers were Patrolman Anthony Jiles, Patrolman Steven Flannery, Patrolman Brian Kienholz and Patrolman Ian Hausman.
