West Deptford Sports Wrap: Big Wins for Lacrosse Teams

It was a day of blowout wins and losses to open the season for West Deptford teams.

’s boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams both scored lopsided wins in an up-and-down opening day for Eagles spring teams. Here’s how the action broke down:

Girls’ Lacrosse

Rachel Krott led the Eagles with a four-goal performance, and Jess Hill, Maddie Waschko and Emily Whalin each netted hat tricks in a 16-6 win over Paul VI to open the season. The Eagles were up 9-3 at the break, as six different players scored on the afternoon.

Boys’ Lacrosse

The Eagles built an 8-3 lead at halftime, then clamped down hard on defense in the second half in a 12-3 season-opening win over Camden Catholic. Mike Reardon was a force for the Eagles, with four goals and three assists.

Boys’ Tennis

The Eagles dropped a 4-1 decision at Overbrook to open the season. 

Golf

Kevin Brockway shot a 42, and the Eagles scored a 177-191 win over Cumberland Regional at Running Deer in Pittsgrove Township.

Softball

Paul VI handed the Eagles a 12-1 loss in Haddon Township to start the season, as pitcher Marissa Linquist was tagged for 17 hits. West Deptford’s Katie Boyd scored the Eagles’ lone run.
