West Deptford Sports Wrap: Girls’ Track Dominates, Tennis Gets Streaky

The boys' tennis team put together back-to-back wins for the first time all season, while the girls nearly swept the track events against Sterling.

Nicole Pinto, Megan Kirschling and Karen Knoblock all won multiple events, as the West Deptford girls’ track team came within a win at the 4x400 relay of sweeping the track events in their win over Sterling.

But with the meet already well in hand and the Rowan Open just around the corner, the Eagles eased off the gas a bit in the 81-59 victory.

Kirschling took the high jump, triple jump and the 400 and 100 hurdles, Knoblock won the 1,600 and 3,200, and Pinto won all three sprints—the 100, 200 and 400—in the win. Samantha Budd added a first in the 800 and Claudia Theriault claimed victory in the long jump to round out the scoring for West Deptford, now 9-1 on the season.
