The golf team beat the elements—wind gusts at Philadelphia International Airport, just across the river, hit 32 miles per hour during the match—and Gateway Tuesday, posting their low score of the season thus far in a 168-215 victory on the home course at .

Kevin Brockway continued to prove he’s the undisputed ace of the team, firing an even-par 36 to stake the Eagles in the blowout victory. Matt Santarelli (43), Zach Vorndran (44) and John Meagher (45) rounded out the scoring for West Deptford.

Girls’ lacrosse

The Eagles clung to a 5-4 lead at halftime and made it stand up the rest of the way, escaping Collingswood with a 10-9 victory to improve to 2-1 on the season. Rachel Krott accounted for five of the Eagles' goals.

Baseball

The Eagles jumped out to a quick lead over Gateway, scoring three runs in the top of the first, but saw that turn to dust when the Gators flipped it in the bottom half of the inning. Gateway took a 4-3 lead on their way to a 5-4 win over West Deptford, as Putter Angert took the loss on the mound for the Eagles.

Softball

West Deptford scored five runs in the bottom of the first on their way to 14 unanswered runs and an eventual 14-1 win over visiting Gateway. The Eagles had just nine hits in the game, but took advantage of four Gators errors in the runaway victory.

Boys’ tennis

The Eagles’ struggles to open the season continued, as Colonial Conference powerhouse Haddonfield rolled into town and left with a 5-0 victory.
