West Deptford Sports Wrap: Golf, Softball Win

West Deptford's golfers got a win over Kingsway Wednesday in what could be a preview match against a key Colonial Conference match, edging the Dragons, 168-174 at Beckett Golf Club.

Matt Santarelli led the Eagles with a 41, while Ritchie Stolz (41), Kevin Brockway (42) and Ryan Henry (45) rounded out the scoring.

West Deptford will be back at Beckett Thursday to face Audubon in the final conference match of the season, with a potential split of the Colonial title with Haddonfield on the line.

Softball

Sydney Ponto and Marissa Linquist were a fearsome one-two punch, as the Eagles mercy-ruled Lindenwold, 12-0.

Linquist pitched the shutout, striking out five and allowing just a single hit, while also going 4-for-4 at the plate, falling only a home run short of the cycle. Linquist scored three runs and drove in two.

Ponto got the home run Linquist was missing, scored three runs and drove in three on the afternoon.
