West Deptford Wrestlers Sweep Gloucester, Williamstown

Twice the matches meant twice the wins for the Eagles Saturday.

wrestlers kept their undefeated season rolling Saturday, steamrolling a pair of Tri-County teams in a tri-meet.

The Eagles racked up a dozen pins on the day in beating Gloucester and Williamstown, neither of which could even get within 30 points of the hosts.

Gerald (Towns) Owens bookended that action at 220 pounds, opening the Williamstown match with a pin in less than 30 seconds and closing out Gloucester with his second first-period pin of the day.

Owens’ effort was matched by teammates Dan Gibson and Mark Fischer, who also recorded a pair of pins each. Christian Terinoni was also a force, scoring a first-period pin against Williamstown and getting a technical fall against Gloucester.

The win moves West Deptford to 4-0 heading into a busy week. The Eagles host Sterling Monday and Haddon Heights Wednesday, before a quad-meet Saturday.
