Woman Lost In South Jersey Woods Lost Ability To Walk Before Rescue
She had been missing for nearly 24 hours, including overnight and during heavy rainfall, police said.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A missing woman lost her ability to walk by the time rescuers found her in a large forest, authorities said.
The woman had been in the Winslow Fish & Wildlife Management Area for nearly 24 hours before she was found on Thursday, according to Monroe Township police. She was injured but alive.
Police were dispatched Thursday to the 3000 block of S Black Horse Pike after learning that the woman hadn't been seen since the previous day. Officers obtained surveillance footage, which showed her walking into the woods at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was likely lost in the woodlands overnight and during heavy rainfall, police said.
Local, county and state units coordinated on a search, finding the woman about 90 minutes later. She was a half-mile from the road, with no communication device on her and no ability to walk any longer.

The woman also sustained cuts and scrapes. She was brought to Jefferson Hospital for treatment.
The Winslow WMA encompasses about 8,400 acres in Gloucester and Camden counties.
