1,000 Pounds Of Items Collected For Union County Homeless Veterans

UNION COUNTY, NJ — More than 1,000 pounds of items were collected as part of Backpacks for Life, an organization that assists homeless veterans.
The collection for homeless Veterans is part of Chairman Bergen’s “UC HERO” initiative, offering programs and services for Veterans this year.
Freeholder Chairman Bruce H. Bergen is joined by the Union County Office of Veterans’ Affairs Director Richard Thompson, who is also a veteran, as they mark the final round of collections of donations from County residents, and employees.
