1 Dead, 1 Injured In Union County Shooting

The Union County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the early Sunday morning shooting.

ELIZABETH, NJ — One man is dead and another is hospitalized following a shooting in Elizabeth on Sunday, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

In the early morning hours of July 7, Elizabeth Police Officers responded to the area of the 400 block of Westminster Avenue after reports of a shooting.

Officers found two adult men who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Jose Aranzamedi, 47, was taken to a local area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

The other victim, a 51-year-old man, was taken to a local area hospital and is currently in stable condition.
