Details Released After Deadly Shooting: 1 Killed, 2 Wounded On N.J. Street

Details were released after one was killed and two were shot on a New Jersey street late Thursday, according to authorities.

Al-Yasin Anthony, 20, of Elizabeth was identified as the victim who died, according to Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park.

Gunshots were reported on Thursday around 11:40 p.m. in the area of Court and First streets in Elizabeth. Upon arrival, Elizabeth Police Officers found Anthony, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

An adult male and an adult female, who had been struck by gunfire, were also at the scene. They were transported to local hospitals with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, according to Park.

The shooting remains under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.

News12 said the incident may have been a drive-by shooting.
