17-Year-Old Arrested In Fatal Union County Shooting

A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that left a 15-year-old dead in Elizabeth.

ELIZABETH, NJ — A 17-year-old Elizabeth resident has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy dead inside a home on Florida Street.

The arrest was made on Monday following the shooting that occurred on June 5 around 10:15 p.m.

When responders arrived at the home, they found the 15-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the case, including aggravated manslaughter and two weapons-related charges.

The case involves multiple agencies, including investigators from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, the Elizabeth Police Department, and the Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
