19 Deer Killed in Second Day of Union County Hunt
Hunting in six Union County parks and one municipal park will occur on Mondays through Feb. 6. The next hunting day is on Jan. 18.
The second day of the annual Union County Deer Management Program resulted in the death of 19 more deer in total from six county parks and one municipal park on Jan. 18.
The first day a total of 63 deer were harvested on Jan. 9. A total of 82 deer have been killed so far.
The number of deer killed from each park on Jan. 18 is as follows:

- Watchung Reservation (Berkeley Heights, Mountainside, Scotch Plains, Springfield, Summit) - 9
- Passaic River Park (Summit) - 1
- Lenape Park (Cranford, Kenliworth, Springfield, Union, Westfield) - 2
- Nomahegan Park (Cranford, Kenliworth, Springfield, Union, Westfield) - 0
- Ash Brook Reservation (Clark, Scotch Plains) - 7
- Oak Ridge Park (Clark) - 0
- Hawk Rise Sanctuary (Linden) - 0
Hunting in all of those parks will occur on Mondays through Feb. 6. Lenape and Nomahegan Parks will be closed on days when hunting is underway. However, no other parks will be closed during the conduct of this program.

The next hunting day will be on Monday, Jan. 23.
