2 Charged With Murder In Union County Shooting

UNION, NJ — Two men were arrested in the Union County shooting death of 22-year-old Emmanuelle Florestal of Irvington on Oct. 16, 2022, announced Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel.

Ahmad Conde, 19, of Elizabeth, and Ducarmel H. Georges, 19, of Brooklyn, New York, are charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses in connection with the shooting death of Emmanuelle Florestal of Union.

Both Conde and Georges could be sentenced to life in state prison.

When they arrived they found the victim, Florestal, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, said Daniel.

Florestal was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Conde and Georges were identified as the perpetrators following a joint investigation led by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force and the Union Township Police Department, with the help of Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, Union County Police Ballistics, United States Marshals Service and New York City Police Department.

In the early morning hours of March 20, members of the United States Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force executed arrest warrants in Brooklyn, at which time they were able to place Georges under arrest. Conde remained a fugitive until he was arrested on March 28.

"We appreciate the hard work and collaboration with our local and federal law enforcement agencies who assisted our office in locating and apprehending the suspect," Daniel said. "We hope
that this arrest can bring some small measure of comfort to all those grieving Mr. Florestal."
