2 Luxury Cars With Keys Left Inside Stolen In Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — Two luxury cars with the keys left inside were stolen in Westfield prompting police to remind residents to be on alert.

A 2014 black Infiniti QX60, valued at $35,000, and a 2018 black BMW x5, valued at $68,000, were both stolen out of the victim's driveways on Tuesday in the 800 block of Wallberg Avenue, Westfield Sgt. Michael Walsh said.

One victim reported the theft at 6 a.m. and the second victim reported the theft at 7:18 a.m. on Sept. 11. Both vehicles had the keys left inside and both were later recovered in Newark, Walsh said.

As a result of the thefts, police sent out an alert to residents reminding them to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, remove key fobs and report any suspicious activity to 908-789-4000 ext 0 or 911.
