2-Month-Old Infant Found Unresponsive, Dies In Union County

Authorities are investigating the death of the infant boy found in an Elizabeth home.

ELIZABETH, NJ — The death of a two-month-old infant, who was found unresponsive in Elizabeth, is being investigated by authorities.

On Monday night, Elizabeth Police were called to a home on Pingry Place in Elizabeth.

"While both parents were working, their eldest child was watching the younger siblings, which included a 2-month-old brother," said Elizabeth Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras.

A medical emergency happened and the call came in as an unresponsive infant, said Contreras.

The boy was pronounced dead at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified and no foul play is suspected at this time.

The infant's death is currently under investigation.
