2026 Police Youth Academy For Students Offered By Westfield Police

The weeklong program runs July 13-17 and offers hands-on lessons in law enforcement and public safety.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield police are accepting applications for the department’s 2026 Police Youth Academy, a weeklong summer program for students interested in law enforcement and public safety.

The program is scheduled for Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at John H. Stamler Police Academy, 1776 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains.

The Westfield Police Department described the academy as "an unforgettable, hands-on experience for students interested in law enforcement and public safety!"

The department said each day will begin with "energizing military-style drill and physical fitness" led by "a certified WPD physical fitness instructor and current drill Instructor from the John H. Stamler Police Academy."

After those morning sessions, participants will move into classroom instruction.

Westfield police said students will learn about criminal, juvenile and motor vehicle law, the court system, crime prevention, criminal investigations, and basic first aid and CPR.

The department also said the academy will include "special guest speakers and live demonstrations from regional public safety partners."

Applications are due Friday, June 5.
