4 Cars Stolen, Burglarized From Same Westfield Street

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Police reported multiple cars were stolen and/or burglarized on the same night on the same street, according to the police blotter.

On July 22 at 10:29 a.m.: A resident of the 500 block of Hort St. reported that their 2011 Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the roadway by their home. The reported value of the vehicle was $12,000. The victim reported that a wallet was inside the vehicle at the time of the theft. The victim also reported that a separate vehicle belonging to them was burglarized.

On July 22 at 10:55 a.m.: A resident of the 500 block of Hort St. reported that their 2016 GMC Yukon was stolen from the roadway. During the course of the investigation the vehicle was recovered in Westfield. The victim did not report any items stolen from inside the vehicle The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside.

On July 22 at 12:17 p.m.: A resident of the 600 block of Hort St. reported someone entered her parked vehicle. The resident reported that no items were taken from their vehicle and the vehicle was left unlocked.

On July 22 at 1:46 p.m.: A resident of the 600 block of Hort St. reported that someone entered his parked vehicle. The resident reported that a pair of keys, valued at $16 was taken from the vehicle which was left unlocked at the time of the theft.
