Union Spa Busted For Prostitution, 5 Arrested

UNION, NJ — Union Police arrested five people following an investigation into a spa on Morris Avenue for prostitution.

Police were aware that the Birchwood Holistic "was actually a place where prostitution was going on" and had previously made arrests in September 2017.

Police monitored the location and discovered that they had returned to business and it appeared that nothing had changed, Union Police reported.

On Wednesday, an undercover detective went inside the spa to investigate. Inside he was escorted into a private room where a female massage therapist explained the pricing for additional services that they offer — these services were of a sexual nature, Union Police report.

The detective declined her offer and left the spa. Detectives and Street Crimes Unit officers came back and made arrests.

The man in charge was identified as Ronald (aka Michael) Stone, 75, from West New York. He was arrested and charged with promoting prostitution.

The woman who solicited the undercover officer was also arrested and was identified as Masturakhon Abduvalieva, 41, from Brooklyn, New York. Three other woman in the spa were also arrested for a variety of warrants. All of them were processed and released from headquarters.

Stone and Abduvalieva were given court dates and will appear in court at a future date.
