Plans Started To Restore 'Creepy and Cooky' Addams Family Historic Home (Snap, Snap)
The registered historic landmark is located on Elm Street in Westfield, where Addams Family creator Charles Addams lived for 27 years.

WESTFIELD, NJ — The historic Union County home of television's "creepy and cooky" Addams Family creator Charles Addams will be renovated beginning in mid-December.
The Addams house is located on Elm Street in Westfield, where Addams lived for 27 years.
Ethan Schoss, owner of Schoss Construction in Scotch Plains, grew up watching The Addams Family, so when this opportunity arose, he was more than excited to jump on it.

"The Addams Family was one of those timeless classic shows full of wit and humor that just made your day," Schoss said. “Having the opportunity to be a part of this is one of the coolest things I have gotten to do, I plan on honoring the homes’ unique history while updating and revitalizing it.”
The home built in 1907 is where Charles Addams lived with his wife while writing the famous cartoon, which first appeared in The New Yorker in 1938 and appeared until his death in 1988. It spawned two live-action TV shows, two animated TV shows, three movies and a Broadway musical.

The Addams Family became best known for its first series, which ran from 1964-1968 and featured the fictional characters of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley and Thing, a mysterious but helpful hand.
