Man Aggressively Yells Profanities, Racial Slurs At Westfield Delivery Driver: Blotter

DWI arrest, dog bite, fraud, and shoplifting were also reported recently in Westfield.

WESTFIELD, NJ — An aggressive encounter between drivers at a Westfield intersection was reported on Saturday.

At 9:08 p.m., a delivery driver for a local business went to Westfield Police Headquarters to report a simple assault.

The driver said that while coming back from a delivery, a black Hyundai Sonata cut in front of her near the intersection of Boulevard and Park Avenue.

At that time, the driver got out of the car and aggressively approached her driver's side window, yelling profanities, according to the Westfield Police blotter.

The driver of the Hyundai, described as a bald white man, around 55 years of age with a medium build, wearing a white T-shirt and black glasses, allegedly directed racial slurs toward the delivery driver and spat into the vehicle while recording the encounter on a cell phone, according to the blotter.

No physical contact was reported. The man then fled the scene.

On April 5 at 4:56 a.m.: German Matacriollo, 52, Fords, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Matacriollo's vehicle in the area of the 200 block of East South Avenue due to multiple traffic violations. A roadside investigation ensued, which resulted in Matacriollo being placed under arrest and taken to Westfield Police headquarters. At headquarters, Matacriollo was processed and released to a responsible party with multiple traffic summons and a mandatory Westfield Municipal Court date.

On April 6 at 7:40 a.m.: A Westfield resident reports that his dog was bitten by an unleashed dog. The man states that he was walking his dog on a leash in the wooded area of Tamaques Park near Tamaques Way when a large white "fluffy" dog ran up and bit his dog in the ear and neck. The man accompanying the unleashed dog is described as a white man with gray hair wearing a light blue shirt and a baseball-style hat.

On April 8 at 10:54 a.m.: Officers responded to a local bank in the 300 block of E. Broad Street for a report of a fraudulent transaction in progress. At that time, Jose Lopez, 55, Bronx, NY, was placed under arrest for theft by deception, exhibiting false government ID, and additional offenses. He was processed at Westfield Police Department Headquarters and released on a complaint summons.

On April 9: A resident in the 100 block of N. Cottage Place reports a fraudulent cash withdrawal from a business account in the amount of $875.

On April 10 at 12:46 a.m.: Dany Pierrette, 27, Plainfield, was placed under arrest on the strength of the following active warrant out of Newark for $350 after a motor vehicle stop on South Avenue East and Windsor Avenue. He was released on his own recognizance

On April 10 at 8:06 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 200 block of East North Avenue for a report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. Units found Peter A. Primavera Jr., 68, Westfield, was placed under arrest for shoplifting various personal care and food items. He was processed and then released upon the issuance of a summons.

On April 11 at 9:53 a.m.: A resident of the 100 block of Fair Hill Drive reported the theft of a bicycle from her front lawn. Security footage shows a gray minivan backing into the driveway across the street, turning around, and then parking at the end of the victim’s driveway. A man then exits the suspect van, walks up onto the victims’ front lawn, takes the bicycle and puts it into the van, and then immediately leaves the area. The value of the bicycle is $250.

On April 11 at 12:10 p.m.: Officers took a report of a stolen backpack from Kehler Stadium. The victim reported leaving his backpack with miscellaneous items under the bleachers. The victim went back to retrieve his backpack and was unable to locate it. The backpack and its contents were valued at around $700.
