WESTFIELD, NJ — A Westfield resident told police they lost more than $58,000 after receiving what was reported to be an invalid check connected to construction work at their home.
Police said the resident reported receiving the check from an insurance contractor related to damage and construction costs at the property.
According to police, the reported loss totaled $58,531.96 at the time of the report. The incident remains under investigation.
