LINDEN, NJ — Seven people were seriously injured after a late-night crash involving an SUV and a car on Route 1 in Union County, police said.
The crash happened around 11:50 p.m. Thursday when a car exiting Interstate 278 onto Route 1 collided with an SUV traveling south in Linden, according to police.
Police said six people inside the car and one person in the SUV were taken to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries.
Authorities have not released additional information about the people involved or what may have caused the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
