LINDEN, NJ — After more than three decades serving Italian food, celebrations and family gatherings, a longtime Union County restaurant is preparing to close its doors.
III Amici Ristorante, located at 1700 W. Elizabeth Ave. in Linden, announced it will close after 36 years in business as founder Giovanni Iavarone retires.
The restaurant first opened in 1990 and became a familiar spot for local families, hosting everything from everyday dinners to milestone celebrations over the years.
In a message shared with customers, the restaurant reflected on the memories created inside its dining room and thanked the community for its longtime support.
“Families, friends, and neighbors came together to share meals, celebrate milestones, and create lasting memories,” the owners wrote.
The restaurant said the support of its customers helped shape its journey over the past three decades, calling those relationships the foundation of its success.
The owners also thanked the employees who helped run the restaurant over the years, saying many staff members became an important part of the III Amici family.
The closure marks the end of a 36-year chapter for the Linden restaurant, but the owners said they hope the memories made there continue to live on with the customers who walked through its doors.
